Mara Maxana (she/her/ella) is an intern at CSSM for our outpatient and school-linked mental health services programs. She is pursuing her master’s degree in mental health counseling at Minnesota State University of Mankato, the same university where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minor in Spanish.
Mara wants to focus on working with the young generation during their early childhood and adolescence along with their families to help break unhealthy generational patterns and encourage a positive environment. She is also interested in working with immigrants, refugees, and undocumented individuals.
She is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and healthy environment that allows children to grow and become their authentic selves while guiding them and their families through difficult situations and overcoming barriers through a strengths-based, client-centered, and culturally competent approach.
