Agency Overview

As the Executive Director of Counseling Services of Southern Minnesota I would like to thank you for visiting our website.  I’d like to take a minute of your time to tell you a little about our agency, what services we provide, and share some of our goals.

Counseling Services of Southern Minnesota (CSSM) was established in 1997 with a primary focus to serve children and families.  Since that time the agency has added services for adults, couples, and psychological testing.  The agency with support of grants from the Department of Human Services, has added programming to serve infants and young children and provide services to children within area schools.

CSSM has two clinic locations, and has providers in eight area school districts.  In addition, we partner with local county human services agencies.  CSSM strives to make a meaningful difference to the communities we serve by providing comprehensive care to our clients.  We focus on having well trained staff and routine consultations with other providers working with our clients to assure the highest quality of care.

It is our goal to assure we provide exceptional training opportunities and maintain a work experience for our staff that allows for a work/life balance.  We offer our staff some flexibility in scheduling, profit sharing and a competitive benefits package.  We have access to DHS sponsored grants to pay staff while they attend training to acquire certification in the following therapies: ABC, TF-CBT, PCIT, CPP, MAP, and IEC-MH.  These certifications are significant and we believe we are providing our staff with excellent opportunities while enhancing the quality of services we deliver to our clients.

Thank you again for taking time to learn a little about us!
