Karen Hernandez (She/Her/Ella) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). She earned her Master of Social Work degree at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Karen’s populations of interest include infant and early childhood, adolescents, and young adults. She has experience with diagnosis such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss. She pulls from attachment theory, uses a strengths-based approach, and a trauma informed lens in her interactions with clients. She enjoys being able to support and guide clients and their families through difficult experiences. Additionally, she enjoys helping caregivers and their children build connections and strong relationships.
Karen is trained in DC:0-5 assessments, which are used to diagnose children birth to five years old. She has also received training in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
She provides outpatient mental health services and school-linked mental health services in Mankato. She is bilingual and provides therapy in English and Spanish.
